Humanitarian Relief for Myanmar
[ Appeal for Volunteers on 31 May, Sat 9am-3 pm at 88 Recycling Kiosk ]


KMSPKS 88 Recycling in conjuction with Firefly Mission are appealing to members of public in requesting for items stipulated below for victims hit by Cyclone Nargis - Myanmar .

Firefly Mission of 7 volunteers will be leaving for Myanmar on 17th May 2008 (Sat) for relief work. We will be assisting in collecting and packing the following needed items to assist them in their Humanitarian Relief efforts. We need the following latest by 16 May 2008 for the Silk Air flight. Thank you for your donations.
1. Biscuits/Can Food- adequate now
2. Milk Powder - immediate
3. Rice - adequate now
4. Medicine -
immediate - preferably in commercial packing

Pls put the following Items to our 88 Recycling Kiosk at Kong Meng San in the bins Labeled ¡°Humanitarian Relief Myanmar¡±.

FAQ

1. Which part of Myanmar will the distribution be conducted
Bogalay (the worst hit province) will be our main Relief & Rehabilitation Mission ¨C we built a school in Ta Man village, Bogalay, and we would try to salvage the villages if possible ?
We would also cover some outlying areas of Yangon (where we have some programme in supporting nunneries/orphanages), which are also affected by the cyclone

2. Who will be the local temple distributing the items
We will distribute to all affected victims, regardless of race & religion

3. Will it be detained by the government
NO, we or our partners in compassion, who are mainly Sangha, will help us ensuring that all items are distributed directly to affected victims

4. When will the team be leaving to Maynmar to deliver the Humanitarian Supplies
The Team will be departing by Silkair Flight MI 512 on 17 May 2008

5. How do you require the items to be packed?
Please pack them in carton boxes ¨C please list the contents in detail for custom clearance. All additional items that are not able to go through will be going on the 2nd trip, which is planned for next month
