Bodhi Tree
Bodhi Tree
This Bodhi Tree is a scion of the sacred bodhi tree at
Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka and is hence a direct descendent of the sacred
Bodhi Tree at Bodhigaya, India, under which the ascetic Siddhartha
attained Buddhahood.
This, as a sapling, was planted by Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng, Chief Administrator
of Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery and Venerable Weragoda Sarada Maha
Thero, Chief monk of Singapore Buddhist Meditation Centre in 2542 B.E. on
10th May 1998, Vesak Full Moon Day.
