Duties and Responsibilities

  • Personal assistant to the Manager in his various areas of responsibilities including all administrative and operational matters
  • Assist manager in managing outsourced security services matters which include operation, attendance, discipline, Late Delivery (LD), report filing, night spot check on all security related issues amongst many others of the Monastery and general administration work
  • Monitor the maintenance of security related equipment
  • Assist manager in managing outsourced cleaners that includes monitoring of cleaning services satisfactory level
  • Other general / ad-hoc duties as assigned

 

Job Specifications

  • Min. GCE “O” Level Certificate / Diploma in relevant fields related to cleaning, security & safety will be advantages
  • Prefer 3 years of working experience at a supervisory capacity
  • Computer literacy and effective communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Good communications skills (both written and spoken) in English and Mandarin (to liaise with mandarin speaking associates) is pre-requisite

ASSISTANT MANAGER, SPIRITUAL EVENTS

The spiritual events department will plan, organize and execute spiritual & Monastery events to create public awareness and interest in Buddhist teaching and practices for different levels of understanding.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To plan, coordinate and execute both department and Monastery events as well as retreats                                 
  • Responsible for overall events budget management and control
  • To plan department’s spiritual events in accordance with the Monastery’s vision and mission
  • To monitor the safety aspects of events organized

 

Job Specifications

  • Candidate must possess at least Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Project/ Event Management related fields
  • At least 3 Years of relevant experience in the related field is required
  • Good communications skills (both written and spoken) in English and Mandarin (to liaise with mandarin speaking associates) is pre-requisite

PROGRAMME EXECUTIVE, KMS DHARMA SCHOOL

This position serves the administration of the Dharma School to ensure smooth operation as part of the Dharma Propagation in the Monastery. You will be involve in the overall operation, planning, implementing, coordinating and carry out of Dharma School existing and new programmes and projects, especially in areas of volunteer teacher’s recruitment and management, volunteer teacher training, liaison as well as logistic and administrative support.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing Dharma School to ensure smooth operation
  • Mange volunteer teacher recruitment and assign teaching duties based on individual profile, inclusive of maintaining and updating information
  • Prepare and generate year-end report and propose improvement on Dharma School operation and training programmes
  • Source, propose and organize Teacher’s Day programme / gift
  • In-charge of resource room and resource materials
  • To cover / support internal / inter-department duties when required
  • Other ad-hoc duties / projects assigned by HOD

  • Minimum Diploma with 2 years of working experience

ASSISTANT MANAGER, COUNSELLING & SOCIAL SERVICE

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess, identify and chart the direction of the department in accordance to the vision of the organisation and needs of the community and evaluate it periodically
  • Manage and support the appointed Resource Panellists and Clinical Supervisor and conduct periodically meetings
  • Provide regular updates and feedback to management through periodical reports
  • Manage and ensure that counselling and social services are planned and conducted according to the guidelines of relevant professional standards and ethics
  • Plan, develop, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate new programme initiatives that meet the needs of the community members
  • Recruit, manage, supervise and support the team, consisting of staff, volunteer and intern counsellors/social workers/caseworkers/administrators through regular meetings, case discussions and peer supervision sessions
  • Assess, chart, advocate and recommend relevant professional training needs for team members so as to keep abreast with the relevant professional standards
  • Manage community information and referrals and case assignment to suitable counsellors and social workers/caseworkers
  • Establish measurable indicators for the clients behavioural and psychological well-being and evaluate progress of cases and programmes
  • Plan and develop and evaluate the guided tour programme for the monastery and manage the volunteer guides
  • Network and partner with relevant stakeholders and organisations

 

Job Specifications

  • Candidate must possess at least Master’s Degree in Counselling/Psychology or Social Work with keen interest in community work
  • Required language(s): English, Chinese
  • At least 5 Year(s) of relevant direct work experience in counselling and social work; relevant experience in managing counselling service in a managerial or supervisory capacity will be an added advantage
  • Required Skill(s) (if any): Meticulous with Strong Planning and co-ordination skills in projects/programmes, Effective bilingual in English and Mandarian with strong written and communication skills to manage Mandarin users

COUNSELLOR (PART TIME), COUNSELLING & SOCIAL SERVICE

As a part time counsellor, provide direct clinical services to clients, adhering to the professional standards and guidelines of counselling work. Involved in networking with relevant stakeholders and organisations, conducting relevant training, workshops or talks for volunteers and public.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide face-to-face / phone counselling
  • Develop and implement suitable support services for the community
  • Attend to walk-in and incoming calls about programmes and services
  • Network and partner with relevant stakeholders and organisations
  • Conduct and assist in talks and workshops

 

Job Specifications

  • Candidate must hold a Singapore Association of Counselling recognized counselling qualification (Masters/Postgraduate Diploma) or equivalent with at least 2 years of clinical experience
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin to manage Mandarin speaking users
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of all demographics
  • Team player with ability to work independently
  • Candidate with good Dharma knowledge will be of an added advantage

M & E TECHNICIAN

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out general inspection and rectification works to M & E equipment, lighting, pipe works, sound system etc
  • Responsible for general maintenance, repair and minor installation works
  • Assist to take meter reading for water and electricity consumption
  • Supervise contractors carrying out routine servicing and installation works
  • Perform store check, general filing and administrative tasks
  • Support Monastery’s events and activities as assigned by Supervisor

 

 Job Specifications

  • Min. 5 years of relevant experience or NTC 2 & 3 or ITC certificate in M & E service (Electrical / Electronic)
  • Able to write simple service report in English
  • Possess initiative and work well with minimum supervision
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin to manage Mandarin speaking users
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills

FRONT LINE ASSISTANT

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safeguard the properties in the monastery include but not limited to crematorium / columbarium
  • Ensure that fire safety practice is followed
  • Perform crowd control duties to ensure no blockage
  • Perform traffic control to ensure safety of the devotees
  • Operate of the carpark barrier to ensure only authorized vehicles driving into the crematorium carpark smoothly
  • Collect vegetarian sets and staff rations (lunch) from Kitchen
  • Other general / ad-hoc duties as assigned

 

 Job Specifications

  • Experience in Traffic / Crowd management, prefer with 5 years of working experience
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work with minimal supervision

VOLUNTEER EXECUTIVE

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing effective and responsive volunteer management services
  • Assist in developing, promoting and delivering volunteer related training programs as well as development opportunities
  • Collaborate with HODs to monitor and manage volunteer issues and enquiries
  • Collaborate with HODs to plan and coordinate volunteer affairs initiatives
  • Assist in coordinating and managing external/internal events

 

Job Specifications

  • Min Diploma in any discipline, preferably with 2 years of relevant experiences in volunteer management
  • Excellent facilitating, communication, problem-solving and influencing skills

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (PART-TIME)

MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT CUM CARPENTER

To handle the carpentry work in the Monastery, installations, corrective and maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To understudy the current carpentry contractor with regards to all carpentry work and procedures for monastery events
  • To maintain and update maintenance records & documentations
  • Responsible for day-to-day maintenance and cleaning, conduct checks on installations, trouble shooting, preventive and corrective wooden furniture maintenance works
  • Support event in the Monastery, e.g. setting up of praying fixtures
  • Perform minor adjustment on room furniture, fixtures and other items at our properties
  • Handles rectification and maintenance works
  • Cover duties

 

 Job Specifications

  • Minimum 5 years carpentry experience
  • Professional certification in carpentry will be an advantage
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 kg without assistance
  • Bilingual in Mandarin and English is preferred to liaise with Mandarin-speaking associates
  • Able to walk, stand, climb, kneel, reach, push, pull and twist as required during majority of the day
  • Must be able to work on weekends, public holiday and irregular hours
