The Spiritual Events department will plan, organize and execute both the Spiritual and Monastery events to create public awareness and interest in Buddhist teaching and practices for different levels of understanding.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and execute both departmental and Monastery events
  • Handle public calls and email enquiries on event matters
  • Provide administrative and logistic support
  • Monitor safety aspects of events organized

 Job Specifications

  • Candidate must possess at least Diploma in Project / Event Management or related fields with 2 years of relevant experiences

CASEWORKER, COUNSELLING & SOCIAL SERVICES

The Counselling & Social Service department aims to develop social services that serve the needs of the devotees and general public.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide social work services (i.e. financial and need assessment, bursaries, referrals etc.)
  • Plan, coordinate and implement casework intervention
  • Provide case management support to social work cases
  • Conduct home visit for new financial assistance cases or further assessment needs are required
  • Plan and conduct programmes and services to meet the needs of various clientele groups
  • Network and liaise with relevant agencies and organizations for the welfare of the clients and programmes
  • Maintain proper case records and provide administrative support
  • Conduct information & referral (IR) phone intake for new clients when necessary
  • Be a strong and active clinical staff of the team:

You will be involving in the overall operation, planning, implementing, coordinating and executing of existing and new youth and adult Dharma programmes and projects, including managing of volunteers, as well as liaison with logistic and administrative support.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess, identify and chart the direction of the department in accordance to the vision of the Monastery
  • Plan, develop, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate new programme initiatives that meet the needs of the community and evaluate it periodically
  • Manage and ensure that counselling and social services are planned and conducted according to the guidelines of relevant professional standards and ethics
  • Identify professional training needs and recommend relevant trainings to the team members so as to keep abreast with the relevant professional standards
  • Provide clinical supervision including case consultation, guidance, review of clinical case notes/recordings, clinical guidance and feedback to staff and volunteer counsellors
  • Recruit, manage, supervise and support the team through regular meetings, case discussions and peer supervision sessions
  • Manage community information and referrals and assign cases to suitable counsellors and social workers/caseworkers

The programme executive role includes managing information and referrals, planning, designing and implementing programmes that meet the needs of clients, providing administrative support for the clinical team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend to service phone line and email enquiries about counselling & social service.
  • Conduct phone intake of information & referral (IR) for new clients.
  • Provide administrative support in areas of database administration, data entry and filing, keeping and generation of report case recordings as well as statistic generation and reporting.
  • Provide welfare and administrative support to volunteers and intern counsellors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Custodian for all collaterals – Produce / edit / proofread content including but not limited to posters, brochures, electronic direct mailers, press releases etc.
  • Oversee marketing efforts by working with departments to create public awareness on events and programmes
  • Custodian for all communication channels including but not limited to social media channels, Reception office etc. Responsibilities include moderation, handling feedback, content planning etc.
  • Stakeholder management – liaise with Government agencies, community, media, public etc.

 

Job Specifications

  • Candidate must possess at least Diploma / Advanced / Higher / Graduate Diploma in Mass Communications, Marketing or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing communications, corporate communication or similar capacity

  • Responsible for general maintenance, repair and minor installation works

  • Assist in meter reading for water and electricity consumption
  • Support and setup for sound system, aircon, fans and lighting
  • Supervise contractors who carry out routine servicing and installation works
  • Ensure proper house-keeping and safety measures

 

 Job Specifications

  • 2 years of relevant experience or NTC 2 & 3 or ITC certificate in M & E service (Electrical / Electronic)

  • Cleaning, drying and storing kitchenware
  • Setting up and clearing of utensils, tables and chairs at F&B for monastery events and ad-hoc requests
  • Packing rice daily
  • Cleaning and tidying up dining areas
  • Stocking up consumables and condiments when necessary
  • Serving lunch and transferring cooked food into containers
  • Assisting at counter / food stalls for sales of mixed veggie rice, rice dumplings etc. during weekends and festival periods
  • Ensuring the tea/water level in the dispenser at water station is maintained and paper cups are replenished when necessary
  • Clearing the leftover food bins
  • Other general / ad-hoc duties assigned by superior

 

Job Specifications

  • Experience in F&B environment and able to communicate in English and Mandarin to manage Mandarin speaking public
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
