ASSISTANT MANAGER, COUNSELLING & SOCIAL SERVICE

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess, identify and chart the direction of the department in accordance to the vision of the organisation and needs of the community and evaluate it periodically
  • Manage and support the appointed Resource Panellists and Clinical Supervisor and conduct periodically meetings
  • Provide regular updates and feedback to management through periodical reports
  • Manage and ensure that counselling and social services are planned and conducted according to the guidelines of relevant professional standards and ethics
  • Plan, develop, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate new programme initiatives that meet the needs of the community members
  • Recruit, manage, supervise and support the team, consisting of staff, volunteer and intern counsellors/social workers/caseworkers/administrators through regular meetings, case discussions and peer supervision sessions
  • Assess, chart, advocate and recommend relevant professional training needs for team members so as to keep abreast with the relevant professional standards
  • Manage community information and referrals and case assignment to suitable counsellors and social workers/caseworkers
  • Establish measurable indicators for the clients behavioural and psychological well-being and evaluate progress of cases and programmes
  • Plan and develop and evaluate the guided tour programme for the monastery and manage the volunteer guides
  • Network and partner with relevant stakeholders and organisations

 

Job Specifications

  • Candidate must possess at least Master’s Degree in Counselling/Psychology or Social Work with keen interest in community work
  • Required language(s): English, Chinese
  • At least 5 Year(s) of relevant direct work experience in counselling and social work; relevant experience in managing counselling service in a managerial or supervisory capacity will be an added advantage
  • Required Skill(s) (if any): Meticulous with Strong Planning and co-ordination skills in projects/programmes, Effective bilingual in English and Mandarian with strong written and communication skills to manage Mandarin users

COUNSELLOR (PART TIME), COUNSELLING & SOCIAL SERVICE

As a part time counsellor, provide direct clinical services to clients, adhering to the professional standards and guidelines of counselling work. Involved in networking with relevant stakeholders and organisations, conducting relevant training, workshops or talks for volunteers and public.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide face-to-face / phone counselling
  • Develop and implement suitable support services for the community
  • Attend to walk-in and incoming calls about programmes and services
  • Network and partner with relevant stakeholders and organisations
  • Conduct and assist in talks and workshops

 

Job Specifications

  • Candidate must hold a Singapore Association of Counselling recognized counselling qualification (Masters/Postgraduate Diploma) or equivalent with at least 2 years of clinical experience
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin to manage Mandarin speaking users
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of all demographics
  • Team player with ability to work independently
  • Candidate with good Dharma knowledge will be of an added advantage

MARKETING EXECUTIVE (5 months Maternity Cover / Permanent)

Maternity Cover must be able to start from August 2018.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development and execution of a comprehensive and effective marketing and communication strategy, that supports the organisation’s mission, vision and priorities, to positively represent and promote KMSPKS and its programmes, services and events to internal and external audiences
  • Leverage consumer insights to effectively segmentise and target key audience groups
  • Work with advertisers for timely and useable ad submissions
  • Ensure that the implementation of KMSPKS’ branding and marketing plans are aligned to the Monastery’s policies and guidelines. Develop and track marketing success criteria and metrics
  • Prepare and manage annual marketing budget to ensure a smooth and robust plan is in place
  • Originate & distribute all organisation communications content including marketing and promotional materials, memos, articles, alerts, digital communications, web content etc
  • Copywriting, editing, proofreading and translation (Eng & Chi) of all organisation communications materials
  • Handle and manage all sponsorship requests
  • Source and leverage on strategic partnerships to increase mileage of Monastery’s activities
  • Build and manage the company’s social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Twitter, LinkedIn, and additional channels that may be deemed relevant
  • Create shareable content appropriate for specific networks to spread both our brand and our content
  • Curate monthly content calendar to ensure all content on Monastery’s social media platforms keep to brand guidelines and tone of voice
  • Run regular social promotions and campaigns and track their success
  • Drive consistent, relevant traffic and leads from our social network presence
  • Explore new ways to engage and identify new social networks to reach our target buyers
  • Track, measure, and analyze all initiatives to report on social media ROI

 

Job Specifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a marketing / branding role. Degree or diploma holder in marketing or communications
  • Knowledge of current trends in social media environment is a bonus
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision, has good initiative
  • Creative, passionate and has an eye for details and aesthetics
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin to manage Mandarin speaking users
VOLUNTEER EXECUTIVE

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing effective and responsive volunteer management services
  • Assist in developing, promoting and delivering volunteer related training programs as well as development opportunities
  • Collaborate with HODs to monitor and manage volunteer issues and enquiries
  • Collaborate with HODs to plan and coordinate volunteer affairs initiatives
  • Assist in coordinating and managing external/internal events

 

Job Specifications

  • Min Diploma in any discipline, preferably with 2 years of relevant experiences in volunteer management
  • Excellent facilitating, communication, problem-solving and influencing skills
  • Proactive, people-oriented, team player, cheerful, positive and committed
  • Ability to multi-task and work within time frame with minimal supervision
  • Irregular working hours and able to work on weekends
CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICER

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process daily receipts  transaction for storage of Urns, Ancestral Tablets, Prayers Services, Donations, etc
  • Registration of Monastery Events – New Year, Lunar New Year, Qing Ming, Vesak, Ullambana, Medicine Buddha, Shui-Lu, etc
  • Liaise with Casket/Undertaker Companies for registration of Beneficiary – Death Certificate
  • Answering incoming telephone calls and attending to walk-in customer enquiries, problems and feedback
  • Processing of labels / Stickers for Urns Storage / Ji-Ling
  • Collection of photos for Niches / Ancestral Tablets
  • To cover/support inter-department duties when required
  • Other general / ad-hoc duties / projects assigned to Front Office

 

Job Specifications

  • Minimum ‘O’ level with at least 1 year front line working experience
  • Good communications skills (both written and spoken) in English and Mandarin (to liaise with mandarin speaking associates) is pre-requisite

SERVICE CREW, F & B

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setting up and clearing of all required utensils, tables and chairs
  • Packing of rice daily
  • Cleaning and tidying of meal areas, ensuring consumables and condiments are stocked up
  • Serving of lunch and transferring cooked food into containers
  • Assist in the sales counter for mixed veggie rice, rice dumplings, various food stalls on weekends and festival period
  • Ensuring the tea/water level for the tea/hot water station is maintain, and also to replenish paper cups
  • Assist to clean up, drying and storing of utensils and bowls
  • Assist in cleaning and washing up of bowls upon request
  • Cleaning up and ensure dining area and surrounding is always neat and tidy
  • Clearing of the leftover food bins

Job Specifications

  • Experience in F&B environment and able to communicate bi-lingual in Mandarin and English to manage Mandarin devotees
  • Knowledge of operating cash registers or experience in the role of cashier would be an advantage

OPERATOR, CREMATORIUM

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily cremation matters
  • Monitor of the 4 cremator conditions
  • Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of cremator compound

FRONT LINE ASSISTANT, CREMATORIUM

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain columbarium’s’ cleanliness
  • Responsible for daily devotees praying matters
  • Support the events organized by the Monastery (Qing Ming & Ullambana Festival)
  • Attend to customers’ enquiries
  • Other general / ad-hoc duties as assigned

MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT CUM CARPENTER

To handle the carpentry work in the Monastery, installations, corrective and maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To understudy the current carpentry contractor with regards to all carpentry work and procedures for monastery events
  • To maintain and update maintenance records & documentations
  • Responsible for day-to-day maintenance and cleaning, conduct checks on installations, trouble shooting, preventive and corrective wooden furniture maintenance works
  • Support event in the Monastery, e.g. setting up of praying fixtures
  • Perform minor adjustment on room furniture, fixtures and other items at our properties
  • Handles rectification and maintenance works
  • Cover duties

 

 Job Specifications

  • Minimum 5 years carpentry experience
  • Professional certification in carpentry will be an advantage
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 kg without assistance
  • Bilingual in Mandarin and English is preferred to liaise with Mandarin-speaking associates
  • Able to walk, stand, climb, kneel, reach, push, pull and twist as required during majority of the day
  • Must be able to work on weekends, public holiday and irregular hours
