Hall of No Form 无相殿

The Hall of No Form is located on the fourth level of the Venerable Hong Choon Memorial Hall. Enshrines within is an awe-inspiring giant statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, crafted in Taiwan. Measuring 13.8 metres from its lotus base and weighing 55 tonnes, the status embodies solemn dignity and presence.

Spanning 3,290 square metres, approximately half the size of a football field, the hall can accommodate up to 2,000 people. Designed without pillars, the space is open, bright and unobstructed, creating a sense of spaciousness and calm.

The name “Hall of No Form” serves as a reminder that all forms, including images of the Buddha, have no fixed nature. Being empty of self-nature, they solely though the coming together of causes and conditions. As such, one should not be attached to any form.

The hall is used for Dharma talks, symposiums, meditation sessions, prayer services, and ceremonies like the Threefold Refuge and Five Precepts. When no activities are taking place, visitors are welcome to engage in silent prayer or meditation and experience the tranquillity in the hall.

位于宏船老和尚纪念堂四楼的无相殿，供奉一尊庄严的释迦牟尼佛像。佛像自莲花座起高达13.8米，重达55吨，于台湾制造，庄严肃穆。无相殿面积为3,290平方米，相当于半个足球场，可容纳约2,000人。全殿采无柱设计，空间宽敞明亮、通透无碍。

“无相殿”之名寓意诸法无自性，诸佛形相亦无固定本质，一切皆因缘而生，应观诸法实相，不应执著于相。无相殿主要用于举办讲座、研讨会、禅修、法会及三皈五戒等各类弘法活动。无活动时，访客亦可在此静坐禅修，体验无相之境。
