School FAQs

Q1: How long is the school term at KMS Dharma School?

The school term consists of 2 semesters:

  • Semester 1:     January to end  April
  • Break :     May to end June (for students to prepare for their school  examinations and enjoy their school holidays)
  • Semester 2:     End June to September

This may change when the need arises.  We will notify any changes on the school website. Students will also be informed the dates for each new school year by mail in November / December.

KMS Kids (Chinese) (Classes C1 to C6)   7 to 12 yrs old 2.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m. (Saturday)

Q3. What are the eligibility criteria for a student to be accepted by the school?

New students and their parents are required to attend the New Students’ Orientation Day.  Students must have the right motivation to learn and observe the school rules.

Q4. When is the registration for new students?

Each year, there will be On-line registration which starts at 1st October to 31st October, or when classes are full, whichever is earlier.

Q5. Can new students still join the school after the registration period is over?

No student will be accepted after the registration period is over.  The school also does not accept new students once the school term starts.  If new students join the class midway, they will miss what has been taught earlier, and face difficulties catching up.  Teachers may need to spend extra time tutoring the new students, and this is disruptive to the teaching schedule.

Q6. I am an existing student. Do I need to register at the end of the year for the next year?

Existing students need to submit a Renewal through On-line and administrative fee in the month of September.  This submission is a gesture of agreement to continue studies the following year.

Existing students will automatically be promoted to the next class level the following year, e.g. from Primary 1 to Primary 2.

Q7.What do I do if I want to withdraw from the school?

Student who wishes to withdraw could submit the ‘Notice of Withdrawal’ form or write an email to the school.  This form can be downloaded at http://dharmaschool.kmspks.org/students/forms/.
