Q1. How long is the School term at KMS Dharma School?
The school term consists of 2 semesters:
School date may change when the need arises. Any changes to School dates will be notified to parents via email and published on the School Website http://dharmaschool.kmspks.org.
Q2. What is the student age and timing of the Dharma classes?
KMS Dharma School provides classes for students from Primary School (age 7-12) to Secondary School (age 13-16) as well as programmes for youths (age 17-20).
Q3. How does the School conduct its lessons?
With the safety of our students and teachers as our key consideration, KMS Dharma School classes will continue to be held online via Zoom. When Covid-19 restrictions ease further and conditions permit, the School will make arrangements for the resumption of on-site classes at the monastery.

KMS Kids (Chinese) (Classes C3, C4, C5, C6) 2.45 p.m. – 3.45 p.m. (Saturday)
KMS Kids (English) (Classes JN1, JN2, J1, J2) 4.00 p.m. – 5.00 p.m. (Saturday)
KMS Kids (English) (Classes J3, J4, J5, J6) 5.15 p.m. – 6.15 p.m. (Saturday)
KMS Teens School (Classes SN1, S1, S2) 9.00 a.m. – 10.15 a.m. (Sunday)
KMS Teens School (Classes S3, S4, MP) 10.30 a.m. -11.45 a.m. (Sunday)
Q4. Other than the regular classes, what other activities does the School organize?
Besides our regular online classes, we also have Primary 6 and Secondary 4 examination blessings in July, and year end repentance chanting in September. Family day, excursions, celebration and exhibition will not be organised.
Q5. What are the eligibility criteria for a student to be accepted by the School?
Student must have the right motivation to learn and observe the School rules. The School welcomes student who are keen to learn Dharma to join us.
Child with Special needs/Learning Challenges is required to be interviewed by the School before registration. Parents/Guardians can write in to our School email : dharmaschool@kmspks.org and we will follow up with you.
The School reserves the rights to reject any registration by parents/guardians.
Q6. When is the registration for new students?
We accept new students registration since October 2021.
Q7. Can new students still join the School after the registration period is over?
The School will continue to accept new students when the School term starts.
Q8. I am an existing student. Do I need to register at the end of the year for the next year?
Existing students will automatically be promoted to the next class level the following year, e.g. from Primary 1 to Primary 2.
He/she will need to submit a Renewal online and pay the administrative fee during registration.
Q9. What do I do if I want to withdraw from the School?
Student who wishes to withdraw need to submit the request to the School stating the reason via email.
Q10. How much does it cost to join the School?
The programme is offered free; however, we collect an administrative fee of S$50 during registration.
Q11. Where and when can I buy the School T-shirt?
The School T-shirt can be purchased from Awareness Place (Bright Hill outlet within the Monastery premises) during any day of the week from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. (Bright Hill outlet, within the Monastery premises) during any day of the week from 9.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
Q12. Does my child need to attend every School session?
Attendance is compulsory for every lesson. The School regards every Dharma lesson as a very precious opportunity for our students to learn wholesome values. We would like our students to come and benefit from every Dharma lesson. Our Dharma teachers would also be concerned for your child if he/she does not turn up for lessons.
If your child really needs to take leave from School, please write an email to the School. Failure to do so will be considered as ‘absence without reason’.

How can I volunteer in KMS Dharma School?
Please email to the School if you wish to be a volunteer and we will follow up with you. The smooth running of the School depends heavily on volunteers. You may volunteer in areas like Teaching | Administration | Logistics | Curriculum development | AV set-up | Multimedia | Photography.
